| We went with Tradewinds because honestly the price was right and we didn't have to get a huge wedding package.
We went to his home office to see his work and were impressed with what we saw and pleased to see that he also did some portfolio work for models, so I assumed that he would know how to pose people in a flattering light.
Before our wedding I did email him to see if he would be interested in getting a list of shots that I would have liked, he said he didn't need it because he would be sure to cover the standard wedding shots. My HUGE mistake in not sending it anyway.
He arrived on time wearing bark trousers, logo polo, and logo windbreaker. I would have preferred having a photographer who was wearing a suit. To his credit he was certainly unobstrusive - don't remember seeing him at all. And he was willing to stay an extra 45 minutes to get some pictures f something special my husband had planned - he didn't charge us for the extra time, but he got a VERY generous tip.
He didn't get the standard wedding shots - I think I have one of me walking down the aisle. He didn't pay attention to the small details like my husband's cuffs, asking me to lift my chin - things I would expect a photographer to check. He also didn't make use of photographing us in our reception site - it was raining heavily so we couldn't be photographed outside, but we did have a tent.
He may haven been having an off day or just wasn't into photographing our wedding, but I would not recommend him based on the pictures he took. It actually breaks my heart to look at the pictures he took and realize that this was the "best" he could do on one of the biggest days of my life? |
